On May 20, 2016, the United Way held its 16th Annual Commercial Real Estate Network Legacy Luncheon event at the Hanover Marriott in Parsippany, NJ.  The keynote speaker of the event was Mitchell E. Rudin, Chief Executive Officer of Mack-Cali and a former client of Holt Construction while serving as President and Chief Executive Officer at Brookfield Office Properties. The event highlighted the United Way’s commitment to raise funds to strengthen the community and improve life for ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families. Holt Construction was a silver event sponsor and was represented by Bruce Messina, Victor Pena, Antonina Caruso and Bob Gerard.

The Morristown Medical Center Health Pavilion, part of Atlantic Health System, located at 333 Mt. Hope Avenue, Rockaway, NJ was one of five projects selected as a 2016 Impact Award Finalist by the United Way Commercial Real Estate Steering Committee.  Holt Construction served as Construction Manager for the health pavilion, which was designed by Buckl Architects, Inc.  Atlantic Health System was represented by Robert Peake, Peter Palmer and Sabina Certa.

The event was attended by over 500 individuals and while the health pavilion project was not selected as the overall winner, in the end, ALICE families were the real winner as the event raised tens of thousands of scholarship dollars that will help remove the barriers and allow ALICE families to thrive.
