Atlantic Health System
Holt Construction has been engaged by Atlantic Health System to provide pre-construction services and to serve as Construction Manager and General Contractor for the refurbishment and replacement of nine (9) air handling units (AHU) as part of the Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) Hospital Energy Efficiency Program.
Seven (7) critical AHU’s, each approximately 40 years old, are being replaced with four (4) new units while two (2) existing non-critical units will be refurbished. The new units will be housed on a roof directly outside of the current equipment location and will be connected through a complex phasing and demolition plan. Once completed, the medical center will also gain needed storage area in the space once occupied by the AHU’s. The project also calls for the upgrade of all existing lighting in the medical center to LED lighting. This will include both exterior and interior spaces and will be accomplished over a 12 -month
period. The medical center anticipates a significant reduction in energy usage and a
reduction to its carbon footprint.
