Holt was contracted to build the new free standing Central Diner
inside the arrivals hall at JFK T-4.
The Diner includes full kitchen, staff and dining areas. Holt worked closely with IAT and The Port Authority on every aspect of the job including the sensitive mechanical and structural restrictions. The project is a great success and was on-time and under budget. Directly above the LOD for this restaurant is the roadway for the departures level and immediately adjacent to that is the JFK Airtrain. Holt Construction worked with the design team prior to construction to develop the routing and future maintenance plan to provide both Type 1 exhaust and make up air for the space. The duct work was routed to the location in the space where it could turn up as a vertical riser on the south side of the roadway through the arrivals roof. This work was fast tracked as the roof elevation is higher then that of the restaurant and access would be restricted once the restaurant was constructed.
