Monroe College/King Hall
At the same time that Monroe College decided to move forward with the new Kitchen/Servery/Cafeteria at their campus in New Rochelle, NY, Monroe College was faced with the challenge of demolishing its existing cafeteria at its main campus in The Bronx.
The challenge was to provide for the complete demolition of the existing facility beginning in June 2016 and reopening as students returned shortly after Labor Day, the following September. Again, Holt worked with the Architect to build out the facility as drawings were finalized. Using its base of experienced Subcontractors and ordering the long lead items Holt was able to maintain an extremely fast paced schedule. Working in an old building with aging HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical meant extending existing facilities and installing new ones to accommodate the new millwork, and kitchen equipment. With time critical Holt maintained a fast pace work schedule and was ready for the opening when the students returned.
