Holt Celebrates Construction Inclusion Week

To honor Construction Inclusion Week this year, Holt’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee held a series of events nationwide to promote accountability, belonging, and workplace culture.

In addition to hosting toolbox talks and lunch and learns on a variety of our jobsites each day, on Tuesday, each of our offices held a potluck celebrating the cultural diversity of our staff. In addition to bringing in a dish to share with colleagues, everyone was provided a ‘Holt Hometown Flavors’ cookbook to commemorate the day.

To celebrate supplier diversity day, Holt partnered with Shawmut Design and Construction and Consigli Construction to hold a mixer with our diverse suppliers. Construction Inclusion Week is all about celebrating diversity in the construction industry. The mixer brought together General Contractors, Trade Partners, Project Owners and Industry Organizations throughout the New York Metro area to network, strengthen relationships and grow their businesses.

As we closed out the week we held a virtual team building session with each office where they leveraged their creativity to showcase one of their projects by recreating it with Play-Doh. The benefits of team building including increased communication, planning skills, employee motivation and collaboration all of these support a healthier and more successful workplace culture.
