Holt Construction Corp., having already built the dormitory at Gaddy Hall, was asked to start the construction of this new facility which would occupy approximately 500 – 600 students.
Matching up to existing plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems that were put in place during the original construction had to be incorporated into the new design. Holt and our Subcontractors worked closely with the Architect, Engineers, and Kitchen Consultants. A series of temporary barriers were installed to separate the work area while allowing students and faculty to move in and out of the future cafeteria seating areas. Constant attention was paid to maintaining a clean work environment which would not impact occupied spaces throughout Gaddy Hall.
Extensive use of ceramic tile, stainless steel, special kitchen flooring material, and solid surfaces for counters was made along with the use of high efficiency LED Lighting and state-of-the-art mechanical systems.
