United Airlines selected Holt Construction Corp. to complete the construction of the new Polaris Lounge, set to accommodate long-haul business and first-class passengers in a modern yet distinctly United experience.
The scope of the project included renovating the original United Club at EWR Terminal C3 to convert the space into the new state-of-the-art Polaris Lounge. This project was completed in two phases and included imported stone and custom lighting, as well as specialized wall coverings and technology. The entirety of the project included a pre-flight dining option, an extensive buffet with hot and cold selections and table service. The space also includes 10 private daybeds outfitted with Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and 10 luxurious shower suites, featuring rainfall showers and Soho House & Co’s Cowshed Spa products.
Prior to starting the overall construction, enabling work consisting of office construction/relocation and densification of the Phase 2 area had remained open as a United Club. Due to daily airport operations, the construction took into consideration mitigating traffic and safety concerns.
