Restoration Hardware Boutique Hotel

Restoration Hardware has hired Holt Construction for the demo and build-out for their debut, 14-room boutique hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District at 55 Gansevoort Street.

The hotel will act in part as a showroom for the brand, featuring Restoration Hardware’s furniture and fixtures, and will have a ground-floor restaurant. It is the first hospitality concept launched by the California-based public company.

The project includes replacing ground floor infill, replacing the existing awning with a new corrugated wire glass awning, lights, removing non-original fire escapes, installing new wood windows, removing an existing chimney, bulkheads and constructing a cornice to replace one lost before the district’s designation. The roof will get a new sixth floor, plus a mechanical floor above that. This will allow for two pools, plus trees, couches and tables surrounded by a glass windscreen.
