State of Being

Holt Construction was selected as the Construction Manager for the New York City Headquarters for The State of Being.

The original structure was built in 1925 and the three story building will be fully gut renovated and will include off street entry for occupants and bikes. The interior will have individual and shared offices with several high end glass front systems, flexible meeting rooms that combine into larger rooms, skype rooms, and kitchenettes. A new fourth floor will be erected to house rooftop meeting rooms, outside deck, and other spaces. There will be all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, A/V, telecom and security systems. The project is aiming to achieve LEED Gold Certification.

For this project, there are unique Work Force Goals which would ideally consist of 50% women, 50% men on the construction site including apprentice, journey men, and tradespeople in which women and minorities including minority women are well represented and have been given the opportunity to participate in the Union Trades to develop their skills and trade. In addition to workforce, the State of Being, would like 25% of participation from subcontractors who are M/WBE status.
