Rockland Community College
The first new substantial structure on campus for decades, the building includes administrative one-stop-shopping, technology classrooms, tiered lecture halls and a community room that is now the gem of Rockland. A true and shining example of why SUNY is at the forefront of providing the best value in education today.
The starting budget was set at $38,000,000 however, Holt’s actual cost with changes came down to $36,000,000 with a net saving of $2,000,000 and a total change order of $980,000. Another accomplishment by Holt, was the duration of construction. The original schedule was set for 18 months, however through best practices, Holt was able to finish the project in 16 months.
Holt understands that higher education projects require a specialized level of knowledge and often include the integration of complex renovation within occupied environments. Holt works collaboratively with the owner and architect in developing detailed plans that allow faculty and the student body to learn, grown and go home safely every day.
