Replacement of aging motors with high-efficiency inverter duty motors, installation of VFDs, and motors on supply fans.
The PSE&G program allows for equipment upgrades to enhance energy performance. In addition to the replacement of the HVAC equipment for energy use improvement, this project also includes overall plant upgrades that are prudent to do concurrent with the project.
This includes the replacement of the aging motors with high efficiency inverter duty motors on the re-heating hot water pumps on the 2nd floor MER. On the first, second, roof penthouse and the roof, Holt is installing VFDs and motors on supply fan motor of the old AHUS to control speeds on all the fans. Holt will also replace all existing motors on the first-floor boiler room.
In addition, Holt will Install differential pressure (DP) sensors on all lines associated with pumps and static pressure sensor on all lines associated with fans. Connect the sensors and VFDs to BMS for automated control, install missing insulation on the hot water and chilled water pipes in the MERs and provide lighting controls as noted on the line-by-line and the floor plans.
