Holt Construction as construction manager completed the new lounge located in DFW International Airport, Terminal D.
Located on the mezzanine level at the southeast corner of Terminal D, this project involved the selective demolition of an existing lounge with careful protection of adjacent finishes and existing glass wall systems to maintain operational continuity and minimize impact to surrounding areas. The redeveloped lounge is organized across multiple glass-enclosed volumes connected by bridge elements, optimizing the existing architectural framework while enhancing circulation and spatial efficiency. The program includes a mix of lounge, bar, and dining seating areas designed to maximize capacity and user flexibility.
Operational support is provided by two commercial kitchens, strategically distributed back-of-house service areas, restrooms, and ancillary support spaces, enabling efficient service flow and long-term functionality. The project balances design enhancement with constructability, durability, and performance within an active terminal environment.
