The client contracted Holt Construction to replace several storage tanks for fuel, lubricating oils, and chemicals along with 1,700 ft. of underground oil piping.
In need of repair and replacement, the power station boasts an active pipeline, which connects from the oil tank farm on land to the oil tankers located on the Hudson River which is required to fuels the plant. Due to both pipelines being replaced at once, the site had enough fuel for 4 months, at which time the oil tankers would need to refuel the power plant. This required close coordination with all trades, the client, and environmental entities to complete the project on time with minimal disruption to plant activities and the surrounding areas.
