Located near gate 21 within the airport’s Terminal D, The Flying Saucer Pub incorporates a multimedia approach that requires a unique space to showcase it. In the evolving world of aviation, the traveler is looking for every part of their journey to enhance the experience. SSP America continues to do just that with the 2-story Flying Saucer in Terminal D at DFW airport.
The project was executed in two phases allowing the concourse level to remain open during construction of the mezzanine level. Beginning with the mezzanine level, the space was transformed to reflect the identity of an area icon, including 80 beer taps upon final completion. This unique space included the erection of a center stage for live entertainment, elevator and new stair accesses as well as their own restrooms overlooking the main concourse of Terminal D. The stage alone required additional structural reinforcement on the ramp level, interacting with baggage carousels and airline operations.
The Flying Saucer’s goal is to “deliver quality hand crafted brews to good folks who appreciate great beer”. Guests at this Texas draught emporium are rewarded for their consumption with a Saucer that pays homage to where they call home, from Maine to Alaska. Patrons will enjoy their choice of almost 80 beer varietals including local craft beers on tap, in bottles and cans at this 2-story destination. To add to this tavern experience the discerning traveler can energize with live music from the mezzanine stage while they pair their beer or wine.
