The project scope included extensive modifications to the terminal for an improved baggage handling system, compliance measures for TSA development standards, premium check-in space, upgraded concessions and the construction of a new premium service lounge. There are five additional wide-body gates to allow for more transatlantic flights and four nearby on-airfield plane parking / unloading areas to accommodate the added flights. In addition, the scope includes paving taxiways, gate upgrades, and interior modernization work on the concourse. The out-moded gates were demolished and upgraded, and the new concourse received utility modifications to support the upgrades.
