Holt Construction was selected by United Airlines to complete the new Polaris Lounge located within Terminal C of Newark
United Airlines selected Holt Construction Corp. to construct a fast-track, design-build project at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). The purpose of this project was to bring the space into alignment with the updated brand standards. The scope of the project includes upgrades to the lounge areas, kitchen, bar, flight time digital displays, privacy rooms and restrooms.
Based on a successful working relationship with the client and an established knowledge of EWR, the decision to select Holt became instrumental to the collaborative efforts between Holt and the design team. With no familiarity with the airport’s rules and regulations, including procedures with schedules and site logistics plan, Holt became a guide to adhering to the regulations. This partnership allowed the design team to not only adhere to the schedule, but also the budget and sustainability guidelines set forth by United.
The Club’s construction took place during normal which was phased to minimize impact to the airport. This required closed coordinating with operations and was modified as needed. Due to the project’s proximity to the TSA and PANY/NJ along with other tenants, special care as taken when delivering crews and equipment to the site.
