We manage the sourcing and verification of materials, coordinating with manufacturers to confirm compliance with requirements like low-VOC adhesives, formaldehyde-free insulation, sustainably harvested woods, and other certified products. We also identify opportunities to exceed baseline requirements and pursue additional credits, especially in materials and resources, by reviewing project documents and site logistics for potential sustainable improvements.
Throughout construction, we provide guidance on product selection, lead times, and documentation, ensuring that every sustainable practice is achievable and cost-effective.
We insist on detailed, up-to-date specifications that include green requirements and reflect the latest sustainable materials and technologies. By “greening the supply chain,” we make sustainability a differentiator, helping our clients leverage innovative materials and responsible sourcing practices. Our bid forms solicit trade partner input on additional sustainability opportunities and their associated costs giving the owner and design team transparent options to evaluate LEED points or other certifications from a cost-benefit perspective.
Using Building Information Modeling (BIM), we coordinate with designers to explore trade-offs between glazing, energy performance, and costs. We facilitate design charrettes, siting alternatives, and microclimate analyses, including the potential for features like green roofs, water gardens, and bioswales.
